Labor-management approaches to Lean Production

A One day Workshop

This course reviews waste elimination approaches such as Lean and Six Sigma that utilize employee involvement. Roles for management, staff, union officials, and workers will be discussed. Pitfalls and benefits of cooperative work practices are covered.

Target Audience: Manufacturing plant management, local union officials, small group facilitators, plant floor supervision and associates.

Presenters: Brian Furlong (Lean Enterprise, Inc.) and Bob Meyer (WINOC).

Overview of Lean Enterprise
Evolution of labor and management practices in the USA.
Previous attempts at cooperative work practices.
Why the time is right for Lean Six Sigma processes.
How to create a win-win for labor and management.
Roles for top union and company management.
